Meet the Trustees of New Futures Nepal
Minimize

The Trustees of New Futures Nepal welcome you to their website.

We are all volunteers who work with a large team of dedicated friends and supporters. You can see from our accounts that our overheads are kept to a bare minimum. We really try and make sure every penny gets spent on our projects in Nepal. We are very “hands-on”. Each child and adult we help in Nepal is known to us personally – we are passionate about our work and urge you to read on and hopefully be inspired to help.

ANITA WALKS FOR THE FIRST TIME

Joanna Lumley sends message of support for Harrison Trek

“I wholeheartedly support the wonderful work the charity does with the orphans of Nepal, a country and people so close to my own heart due to my family’s life-long connection with the Gurkhas.  I shall cheer every step taken by every generous walker; the practical and the morale-boosting help that those energetic souls will be giving is immeasurable.  Send them my love and regrets that I can’t be with them”.

The Harrison Trek for Children in Nepal 2010

at CASTLE HOWARD

SUNDAY 20th JUNE 2010

Raised £11,130.12

For the third year in succession, S Harrison Developments Ltd has sponsored the Harrison Trek for Children in Nepal.   The venue was the picturesque setting of Castle Howard and as the 200 participants arrived they were welcomed by the idyllic sound of the Kirkbymoorside Town Brass Band echoing across the valley.  The warm sunny weather provided excellent walking conditions and it was a pleasure to stroll around the magnificent grounds and gardens of Castle Howard  and out into the Howardian Hills, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  With the opportunity to take refreshments at the base camp and view the stalls and the charity art exhibition, a good day was had by all.   Trustee Colin Culley said ‘In a climate of financial restraint, following the recession, we are delighted to report that a magnificent total of £11,130.12 was raised. Our thanks go to everyone who was involved’.

Our thanks again go to  Martyn Harrison, of S Harrison Developments Ltd, for  generously sponsoring our event for the third year running. All funds raised will go towards supporting our projects in Nepal and Kalimpong.

The total raised from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 treks is

£37,141.29

Our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us and helped in any way. . Your FEEDBACK is always welcomed. Please send us an e-mail to :  info@challenge4nepal.org

June 2009

When the Archbishop of York,  Dr John Sentamu, heard about the work of New Futures Nepal and how six volunteers had raised enough money to fund two orphanages  he sent them a message of support for their charity walk taking place at Castle Howard on 20th June.

Please support the charity trek on behalf of disadvantaged children and people of Nepal. I give thanks for all those taking part and for the work undertaken to bring a new future for many individuals. May your fundraising continue to help support the orphanage homes in Kathmandu and Kalimpong.”
